Another Metal Podcast Episode 46
Mar 20If you can think of a better way to start off the week than with a giant block of new heavy metal, don’t tell me about it because I like having an excuse to produce this ugly little duckling of a podcast. And besides, for some reason this is one of the few music-only heavy metal podcasts out there that doesn’t do talk or interviews, which means I can tell myself that I’m doing some kind of service to the community. Let me have my ego trip.
Interview: Dryland
Mar 16Stoner metal has always been there, whether it was a Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Sleep, Electric Wizard, or anyone else, the genre has kept itself rolling on (pun intended), faithfully staying true to the primal spirit of rock. One such band doing their part these days to bring pure rock to the masses is Bellingham Washington’s Dryland.

Mar 14If you’re back for more of what I shovel at your ears every week that means you’re a real glutton for sonic punishment, considering the black/death rabbit hole I’ve been wandering down lately. As the show has gone on it seems the average songs I pick just get nastier and more unforgiving, not unlike a junkie needing a stronger dose for each spike. And more people listen each week, which just means we’re all just a bunch of heavy metal junkies, eh?
Interview: Event Horizon
Mar 09If you listen to the AMP podcast it’s easy to get the impression that my music diet consists solely of gritty death and black metal, but to be honest I spend a lot more of my personal listening time on the proggier side of metal, with the likes of Opeth, Steven Wilson, Soen, Symphony X, and Nevermore.
Another Metal Podcast Episode 44
Feb 28I’m convinced that heavy metal is good for the soul, even if that soul is damned to eternal hellfire for listening to metal in the first place. Which is why I do this podcast every week; to make you feel good while sending you straight to Satan’s mosh pit.
